Du Fu Thatched Cottage

Mr. Feng Zhi once said about the Du Fu Thatched Cottage in Chengdu: "When people mention Du Fu, they can ignore his birthplace and place of death, but they can never forget the Thatched Cottage in Chengdu." Du Fu Thatched Cottage is located on Qinghua Road in Qingyang District. It was the residence built by the great Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu to avoid the 'An Lushan Rebellion'. With the help of friends, he chose the elegant environment of Huanhua Creek to construct a thatched cottage, where he stayed for four years and wrote more than 240 popular poems, such as 'A Song of a Cottage Destroyed by Autumn Winds', 'Sad Parting', 'Sick Orange', 'Withered Palms', and other famous works. However, the original thatched cottage no longer exists. It was later rebuilt to commemorate the great poet, and the expanded Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum. Location introduction: To the northeast of Du Fu Thatched Cottage is the Sichuan Provincial Museum, and to the southeast is Huanhua Creek Park (that is, along Thatched Cottage Road, with the park on one side and the cottage on the other). It is recommended to plan a visit to both. Visiting time: The Du Fu Thatched Cottage is quite large, and it is generally recommended to reserve 1-2 hours for a visit. Scenic spot entrance: There is a main gate and a smaller gate, both on Thatched Cottage Road, with a small and ancient style. The north gate is larger, and tickets are usually purchased there, on Qinghua Road.
