Don't just visit Hongya Cave when you come to Chongqing! I highly recommend this ancient trail

The Huangge Ancient Trail was once a must-pass for merchants from Sichuan and Guizhou throughout the dynasties, and it is also known as Chongqing's 'Silk Road'. The trail originated in the Tang Dynasty. The bluestone path built along the mountain winds upwards, and everywhere you look, you are met with the sight of ancient Huangge trees, making this place a natural oxygen bar. Today, it has become the go-to place for Chongqing locals for weekend hiking and leisure. Address: Huangge Ancient Trail Route: Haitangxi or Shangxin Street → Dunhou Slope → Huangge Ancient Trail → Laojun Cave → Huangjueya Old Street (uphill route)/You can also take a car directly to Huangjueya Old Street and walk the downhill route in reverse (less strenuous). If driving, you can navigate directly to the Huangge Ancient Trail parking lot. Itinerary: Laojun Cave Taoist Temple: Here you can overlook the entire panorama of Yuzhong, and it is said that fortune-telling is very efficacious. Huangjueya Old Street: The birthplace of the famous writer Sanmao, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee at Sanmao Cafe. Wenfeng Mountain Trail: This place has many well-preserved Republic of China-era architectural sites. Dunhou Slope Old Street: The Dunhou Slope Old Street has been transformed and has a unique flavor of its own.
