Chongqing never lacks stories, especially along the Huangge Ancient Trail in spring

The Huangge Ancient Trail is the most famous ancient trail in the main urban area of Chongqing. It is said to have a history of more than 800 years and is one of the 'Twelve Scenic Spots of Bayu,' known as the 'Silk Road' of ancient Chongqing. The trail originally started from the Five-Foot Road built by Li Bing, the governor of Qin and Shu, during the Qin Dynasty. The Huangge Trail was constructed as a branch during the Tang Dynasty. At the foot of the mountain, there is also an inscription-less cliff, carved in memory of the well-managed governance by Zhang Jing, the Minister of War of the Southern Ming Dynasty, during the late Ming turmoil. Along the trail, there are lush centuries-old Huangjue trees, and the ancient stone paths give a sense of the passage of time. When spring arrives, the roadside is filled with a variety of wildflowers. With some luck, you can also find wild vegetables such as fish mint, bracken, and Qingming greens, fully bringing the atmosphere of spring. At the end of the trail is the Huangjueya Old Street, where there are many tea-drinking and snack stalls. If you're not in a hurry to reach the top, you can enjoy a cup of tea here and overlook the entire city's scenery, which has a unique charm. The first city walk of spring is arranged on the Huangge Trail, where you can also enjoy a cup of tea under the dense shade and experience the leisurely springtime in the Nanshan area.
