Xizhou Ancient Town in Dali: Photography Tips and Day Trip Guide

Taxi from Dali Ancient Town: 30–40 mins The drop-off point is at the entrance to the ancient town. Walk through the ancient town to the Xizhou rice fields (about 30 mins). You can stop at the Corner Tower, a must-see in Xizhou, and visit Sifang Street and Yan's Compound. There are many tie-dye shops in the ancient town, selling tie-dye shawls and headscarves like those worn by Xu Hongdou. They look great in photos. ✔️ There is a wooden pavilion at the entrance to the rice fields, which is a great place to take photos 📷 ✔️ The coffee shop in the Xizhou rice fields serves average food, but is a great place to take photos ✔️ The Xizhou rice field train takes about 20 mins to complete a loop. Free for children under 1.2 m. The rice fields are beautiful in fall. ✔️ The roadside picnic coffee gallery outside Xizhou is a long way from Xizhou. You need to take a local tricycle to get there. We don't recommend going at this time of year, as the surrounding rice fields have been harvested! Only the house remains.
