I just came back from Ganzhou and am sharing this no-turning-back one-day tour guide. 🗺️ Itinerary: Jiangnan Song City Historical and Cultural Tourism Area—Yugu Platform—Chiang Kai-shek's Former Residence—Song Dynasty City Wall—Bajingtai—Ancient Floating Bridge—Standard Clock—Zao'er Lane—Fushougou Museum—Wei Family Courtyard—Jiangnan Song City 1⃣️st Stop: Jiangnan Song City Historical and Cultural Tourism Area Stepping through the city gate is like traveling through a thousand years of time; the ancient architectural style makes one feel as if they are in ancient times, and the night view is even more enchanting. 2⃣️nd Stop: Yugu Platform This platform is the inspiration for the 'tears of many a passerby beneath the Yugu Platform in the clear river waters' from the poems of Xin Qiji. Climbing high, one can take in the beautiful scenery of the city. 3⃣️rd Stop: Chiang Kai-shek's Former Residence This is the former residence of Chiang Ching-kuo, son of Chiang Kai-shek and former leader of Taiwan, adjacent to the Song City Wall and full of historical atmosphere. 4⃣️th Stop: Song Dynasty City Wall The Ganzhou city wall, which was first built during the Tang Dynasty, has a history of over a thousand years and is of great value for the study of ancient Chinese city walls. 5⃣️th Stop: Bajingtai Bajingtai is a symbolic ancient building of Ganzhou with nearly a thousand years of history. From the platform, one can view the eight famous sights of Ganzhou, hence the name. 6⃣️th Stop: Ancient Floating Bridge This floating bridge, made up of more than a hundred small boats, was built during the Song Dynasty's Qiandao period and has a history of over 800 years, making it a distinctive feature of Ganzhou. 7⃣️th Stop: Standard Clock Built in the 1950s, the standard clock is an important symbol of the city and has significant historical meaning. 8⃣️th Stop: Zao'er Lane A small alley from the Southern Song Dynasty, known as Jiangjia Alley during the Ming Dynasty, features a variety of architectural styles and is full of historical charm. 9⃣️th Stop: Fushougou Museum Fushougou is one of the world's earliest urban sewers, and the museum preserves the remains of Fushougou, making it a great place to learn about ancient drainage systems. 🔟th Stop: Wei Family Courtyard Built during the Jiaqing period and completed in the early years of the Republic of China, the Wei Family Courtyard is the largest existing Qing Dynasty family residence in Ganzhou.
