Zhejiang Haining Yanguan Chen Ge Lao Residence

Yanguan Chen Ge Lao Residence was built in the late Ming Dynasty. After Chen Yuanlong became a prime minister, he expanded it into a grand mansion consisting of east, middle, and west buildings and a back garden. During the reign of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty, Chen Yuanlong was a prime minister, so his ancestral home was called Chen Ge Lao Residence. The ancestral hall, bedroom building, Yunxiang Pavilion, Shuangqing Caotang, Baoyan Zhai, and sedan hall in the middle building of the east building of Chen Ge Lao Residence are relics of the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of 4,719.26 square meters. Chen Ge Lao Residence has a reasonable layout, exquisite architecture, and decoration, and retains stone inscriptions, Ming Dynasty Luohan pine, etc. Chen Ge Lao Residence is an important physical relic of the Chen family in Haining, an important relic of the mansion architecture in the Hangjiahu area during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with important historical value and rich cultural connotations. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit.
