High-Quality Small Shop

A friend invited me for lunch in San Po Kong, a place I'm not very familiar with. I had no idea where the restaurant was, but thanks to modern technology, it wasn't difficult to find it using Google Maps on my phone. It turns out that taking the West Rail Line from my home and walking from the new Airside mall in Kai Tak is quite convenient. The shop is small with a simple Japanese design, and a few decorations create a cozy atmosphere. Sweating profusely, I decided to start with a cold drink. The Earl Grey fruit tea was slightly sweet with various fruit pieces, making it more refreshing than I expected. My friend, on the other hand, could still enjoy a hot latte, which I admire. Fortunately, the quality was reportedly good. The staff recommended the grilled butter chicken, but it takes 25 minutes to prepare. If you're in a hurry, you might want to choose something else. We didn't mind waiting. The presentation was slightly different from what I expected, but it was delicious—fragrant and tender, even the chicken breast was excellent. It was paired with tender fingerling potatoes and mushrooms, making the 25-minute wait worthwhile! We also ordered the French toast, which was very Instagrammable. The bread was soft and generously spread with blueberry jam, which was both sweet and tart, making it very appetizing. It was topped with colorful fruits like strawberries and bananas, with the bananas even being torched for a better texture. No wonder this French toast is one of the shop's signature dishes. Both of us have small appetites, so we were full after these two dishes. However, my friend insisted on trying the lemon tart, which was the main reason for our visit. The tart was beautifully presented with a crispy crust and a lemon filling that was just right—not too sweet or too sour, truly outstanding. Overall, we were quite satisfied with the food here. According to my friend, the shop originally started as an upstairs baking studio, which was already very popular back then. How did I not know about this place?
