The First Declared Monument in the New Territories: Tai Po Man Mo Temple

Hong Kong has three historically significant Man Mo Temples: the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Man Mo Temple on Hollywood Road in Sheung Wan, the Tai Po Man Mo Temple, and the Mui Wo Man Mo Temple! This time, we are introducing the traditional Chinese temple located in the Fu Shin Street Market in Tai Po - the Tai Po Man Mo Temple. The temple was inaugurated in 1892 and served as a place for meetings, arbitration, and worship in the old Tai Wo Market. It was declared a monument in 1984! Due to its architectural and historical value, the Tai Po Man Mo Temple is not only a symbol of the establishment of Tai Wo Market but also one of the main temples in the New Territories.
