Taking a taxi is the most convenient and economical way for a group of people. Outbound 1️⃣: Take the subway from Futian Port to Lok Ma Chau, and then to Sha Tin Station Exit B. First, take Bus 299X at Sha Tin Bus Station to Sai Kung Pier (about 40 minutes), and then take a green taxi at Sai Kung Pier to High Island Reservoir East Dam (37 minutes). The fare is about HKD 150 (1 hour). Outbound 2️⃣: Take the subway from Futian Port to Lok Ma Chau, and then to Sha Tin Station, and then take a taxi directly to High Island Reservoir East Dam (1 hour). The fare is about HKD 300. Return 1️⃣: Take a green taxi at Sai Wan Pavilion directly to Lok Ma Chau (45 minutes). The fare is about HKD 350. Finally, take the subway back to Shenzhen. Return 2️⃣: Take a speedboat 🚤 at Sai Wan Campsite to Sai Kung Terminal (40 minutes, HKD 170). Then take Bus 299X to Sha Tin Bus Terminal, and finally take the subway back to Shenzhen (1 hour). Many guides don't make it clear❗️❗️❗️They all say that you can take a speedboat if you arrive before 5:30. The speedboat depends on the flow of people and the weather! Especially on weekdays, when there are few people, there is no boat at 4:00! [Important]❗️❗️If you want to return on the same day, you need to take a taxi before 5:30. It is difficult to get a taxi after 5:30. [Hiking Route] Route: High Island Reservoir East Dam - Po Pin Chau - High Island Reservoir East - Long Ke Wan - Sai Wan ✔️We chose to take the wild road to Po Pin Chau, which is dangerous. It is not recommended for those who are afraid of heights. The official route is safer. You can put your backpack under the wire mesh to prevent losing your balance. ✔️There are many steps from Long Ke Wan to Sai Wan, which are hard on the knees. It is necessary to bring trekking poles. ✔There is a store at Sai Wan Campsite, where you can eat, get supplies, rent tents, and take a shower. [Essentials] Entry-Exit Permit for Hong Kong and Macau, ID card (for exchanging cash), HKD 500, data [Equipment] Sweat-absorbing quick-drying clothes + sun protection clothing or jacket + trousers + lightweight non-slip shoes + sun hat + trekking poles + non-slip gloves [Supplies] 2L-3L mineral water (about four to six bottles) for long sections of the road to prevent dehydration and heat stroke!
