Shing Mun Country Park An easy and relaxing walk along the Reservoir, a loop trail We kickstart our 2021 with a family activity involving picnic and hiking at Shing Mun Country Park. It is a simple and relatively easy hike with mostly paved road, and some slopes with max elevation of 250m. We decided to go for a loop along the shoreline of the dam. Average time: 3.5 hours Distance: approx 8 km Toilet: There are public toilets/ cubicles along the trail. Replenishing stations: No eateries or kiosks in the park, so bring your own snacks and drinks. Starting point at the Pineapple Dam Nature Trail, passing the Paperback Forest which offers beautiful sky-high treetops, emerging with wilson trail sec 7, heading to Shing Mun Reservoir Upper Dam, taking the Maclehose Trail Dec 7 towards bbq area sites, back on Shing Mun Road where you’ll see the full view of the dam, then follow the path that loops back to Pineapple Dam. 📍Alert: Lots of monkeys 🐒 and they are aggressive when see food/ plastics bags. Please be cautious.
