Huzhou Iron Buddha Temple

📍Address: Iron Buddha Temple is located on Laodong Road, Huzhou 🌟Highlights: Iron Buddha Temple was built during the Tianjian period of the Southern Liang Dynasty (502–519). In 738, it was renamed Kaiyuan Temple and dedicated to the Tang Emperor Xuanzong. During the Qianxing period of the Northern Song Dynasty, Jianzhen cast an iron Guanyin statue and placed it in the southeast corner of Kaiyuan Temple, which was called the Iron Guanyin Temple. In 1152, it was renamed Guangfu Guanyin Zen Temple, which housed the iron Guanyin statue. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty (1368), Guangfu Guanyin Zen Temple was destroyed in a war, leaving only the iron Guanyin statue. In 1369, the temple was moved to its current location and renamed Iron Buddha Zen Temple. ❤Recommended reason: In the center of the front hall is an iron Guanyin statue. In the center of the back hall is a Japanese bronze bell, and the back wall is inlaid with a huge stele inscribed with "Tianning Wanshou Zen Temple" by Zhao Mengfu, a great calligrapher of the Yuan Dynasty.
