Experience Local Life: A Must-Visit Street in Jeju Island

🔺When it comes to Baojian Road, many might naughtily think of 'health preservation' services, but it has no connection whatsoever. Baojian Road in Jeju Island, also known as Lotus Cave Walking Street, was originally named Yinnan Road. In 2011, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, the Chinese Baojian Group organized a massive tourist group that visited Seoul and Jeju in batches. Consequently, the director of the Korean Tourism Bureau renamed this commercial center street in Jeju to Baojian Road to honor the friendship between China and South Korea. 🔺This area is home to various brand shops and is the commercial center of Jeju City's new urban district. Moreover, it is the only street on Jeju Island where cars are not allowed, ensuring a safe shopping experience. 🔺However, to be honest, the overall environment here is rather old-fashioned. But shopping here has its advantages, as many Chinese come here for purchasing on behalf of others and tend to stay nearby, so many shops offer mobile payment options, eliminating the need for cash or card transactions. 🔺Along Baojian Road, there are many gourmet restaurants, including the highly recommended BHC fried chicken store, Kang Hodong Baekjeong barbecue restaurant, Paris Baguette, and more, with most of the culinary delights concentrated here. 🔺Additionally, there are a few places on Baojian Road where you can eat king crab. Personally, I don't highly recommend it as the portions are too large, the prices are not cheap, and they mainly cater to tourists, which feels like a rip-off. Those who want to try should proceed with caution.
