Winter Wonderland - Visit Wusong Island and Discover a White Fairy Tale!

❄️Rime is not snow or ice, but frost on tree branches! Visit Wusong Island in Jilin and discover a white fairy tale in winter! 🏝Wusong Island is a small island on the Songhua River, located in Wulajie Manchu Town, Longtan District, Jilin City, Jilin Province. Hantun and Zengtongtun villages in Wulajie Manchu Town are the places where rime is most concentrated, and are also the best places to view and photograph rime. Jilin rime, along with Guilin landscape, Yunnan Stone Forest, and the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, is known as one of the four natural wonders of China! 📍There are two villages around Wusong Island, one is Hantun and the other is Zengtong. Generally, more tourists stay in Hantun, and it is more convenient to get there. For example, the inn I stayed in was not far from the riverbank along a small road! In the past, you had to take a ferry, but later a new iron bridge was built. 🛎Conditions for rime formation: Rime forms when the temperature is very low and there is plenty of water vapor. Warm air meets cold air and condenses into water vapor, which freezes directly on objects as white ice crystals. Rime is not visible every day, so luck is important! ⏰Viewing season: Late December to late February! Rime forms before sunrise and basically falls off by 11 am! The process of viewing rime is divided into three stages: watching the fog at night, watching the hanging in the morning, and waiting until near noon to enjoy the falling flowers. 🌊Looking along the embankment of the Songhua River, the pine and willow trees are covered with frost and snow, wearing jade and silver, like white clouds and snow waves, which is very spectacular! The Songhua River in Jilin is the only section of the river that does not freeze all year round, reportedly because there is a power plant nearby. Once on the island, you can circle the island on either the right or left side! On the way, two uncles got excited and started practicing Tai Chi, looking refreshed! 🧤A small episode: The night before I stayed, the innkeeper said that everyone who came had to wear a red jacket to take pictures, and it was best to go to the lobby. I was dizzy and couldn't afford to lose face, so I just entertained myself on the kang for a while! I imitated various emojis! 😂 💰The ticket price for Wusong Island has now increased to CNY 80, and you can buy it one day in advance on all platforms! 📍To get to Wusong Island, you can take a chartered car or take a bus to Wulajie Town, which costs CNY 8 per person to the passenger station near the train station! Of course, we chose to carpool to Jilin City for CNY 30 per person! 💎The trees on Wusong Island are uniquely shaped, the rime is thick and long-lasting, and the island surrounded by the river is more mysterious and gentle, making people feel like they are in a dreamlike fairyland of ice and snow!
