Wuliang Mountain was formerly known as Mengle Mountain. It is the western branch of the Yunling remnant of the Hengduan Mountains and is located in Jingdong Yi Autonomous County, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province. It runs from northwest to southeast and is about 260 kilometers long. The main part starts from the south of Yangjie River in Nanjian in the north and ends at the junction of Jingdong and Zhenyuan in the south. Wuliang Mountain is a tectonic erosional mountain and a branch of Nanyunling. Most of the mountains are composed of red lake strata from the Jurassic, Cretaceous and Tertiary systems of the Mesozoic Era, with exposed limestone, sandstone and shale. The Wuliang Mountains are composed of Mesozoic red lacustrine sandstone, shale, mudstone and other strata, with a small amount of igneous rock intrusions. It is a series of block erosion mountains. The horizontal zonal characteristics of the vegetation in Wuliang Mountain are obvious.
