Mannuan Village is a Dai ethnic village located in Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. It is famous for its unique exotic customs and pristine natural beauty. Traditional Dai stilted buildings are nestled among the lush greenery, with ancient trees and wells adding to the scenery, presenting a picture of simplicity and tranquility in its original ecological state. Mannuan Village has a long history and profound cultural heritage. The village still preserves many intangible cultural heritages, including Dai brocade weaving, bamboo weaving crafts, slow wheel pottery skills, Dai martial arts, Dai big drum, Dai palm-leaf manuscripts, Dai Gaosheng, traditional Dai medicine diagnosis and treatment, Dai Zahha singing, Dai oral narrative epic 'Zhao Shu Tun' and more than ten other items. The earliest Dai village deity, Sangmu Di, set the rule: every newly built village must first establish a village heart, which cannot be moved. Around the village heart, four village gates are set, and everyone must enter and exit through the gates without wandering randomly. The village has a Buddhist temple with a history of over 600 years, with long red steps leading up to a splendid and dazzling sight, especially after the temple's recent renovation under the sunlight. There is also an ancient well called 'Nanbowo', with clear and cool water. Above the well, a pagoda-shaped well kiln has been meticulously constructed: a peacock stands gracefully above the well, and two golden dragon heads hold a bamboo pole for drawing water, with villagers and curious tourists often coming to scoop and taste the water. Mannuan Village has always worshipped the natural deities, especially the tree god 'Diuwala Dunmai'.
