We stayed in a one-bedroom suite, which was spacious and well-divided into a living room, bedroom, bathroom, and a balcony with views of the pool and the sea.
Water activities such as kayaking are offered for free. Additionally, the kid’s club has plenty of activities for children. This time, we had the chance to use the spa services; the therapist was affordable and provided a great massage that put us to sleep.
The breakfast was varied and delicious.

The most anticipated part of this trip to Koh Samui was the W Hotel, the same honeymoon hotel as Jay Chou's, which has been open for several years and has always been 🔥. Just checked out and came to see what's fun at W Hotel, there are quite a few Chinese staff.

🏨 Rooms
There are about 70+ rooms, all of which are super spacious, villa-style. I stayed in the Tropical Oasis Villa, which comes with its own pool. There are also villas on the hill, where the pool has a sea view, but I almost missed out on booking one due to the holiday rush. The room's minibar has dozens of snacks and drinks (some require extra 💰), and the coffee machine is quite retro. They also provide little sunscreens, beach slippers, and mosquito bite spray. The shower area is divided into indoor and outdoor, with the outdoor feeling very jungle-like. The evening turndown service even dressed up the daytime teddy bear in pajamas.

The hotel has several different areas with W installations, and the colors change according to different holidays or themes. I still prefer the white ones.
1⃣️ In the Lobby: The classic W installation at woobar, having afternoon tea and taking photos there is so beautiful, I spent a long time in this area, it's very upscale and modern.
2⃣️ Infinity pool: You can take overhead shots from woobar, I didn't go down due to limited time, but it's super beautiful for swimsuit photos.
3⃣️ Beach: You can go at sunset, now around 6:00 is fine, the pink-purple and yellow colors are staggeringly beautiful, and I even caught a beach wedding and took photos of the floral arch.
4⃣️ Near the beach: The lazy sofas, international chess, beach hammocks, and swings are all great spots for photos.

There are 42 islands in Thailand's Ang Thong Marine National Park. Ko Mae Ko, or Mae Ko Island, is one of the best for kayaking as the waters surrounding it are calmer due to its shape. It's also on this island where you can find the Emerald Lake - a super hidden lagoon accessible only by a hike up (~20 minutes) to the viewpoint, and THEN a steep and slippery trek downwards. The lake, known as Talay Nai, is a beautiful turquoise and even glimmering sapphire under the sun, and at different angles. It was quite emotional, even, to enjoy such a view and feel so small in a vast and extensive planet.
The hike up was very manageable. Paths and steps were clear; plenty of railings and durable ropes to guide you. Proper shoes recommended for comfort.
Getting here is easy - many tour companies organize day trips to Ko Mae Ko from Koh Samui, and they're relatively affordable.
At Mae Ko, must-do is definitely kayaking. You can circle around small islets and get back to shore in less than 20 minutes. The sun might be glaring, but the calming waters and stunning limestone cliffs and rock formations will make the effort worth it.
If you're hungry, there's a bar/restaurant/souvenir shop (combined into 1) on the shore.

Best Experience at Mantra Samui Resort
This hotel is by far my favourite hotel ever in Thailand! Their rooms are are you are living in your own apartment kind. Maximum privacy. And we felt very welcoming and comfortable during our stay there!
The service was top notch. With their food being top notch too, definitely a bit higher priced for food than outside local but still very very worth it. Only downside was the hill to get to the hotel, but they do offer shuttle services to nearby places.

Traipsing around Fisherman’s Village, Koh Samui’s touristy seaside hotspot, we were shockingly hard-pressed to find a cafe when it came time to take a coffee break!
Stumbling upon Bar Baguette was like finding gold… And we truly lucked out because they served awesome specialty coffee! And they had a very delicious Orange Almond cake which I thoroughly enjoyed too!
Marking this location for our next visit to the island!

Not an exaggeration at all! This is the BEST VEGAN ICE-CREAM I’ve had and I have had plenty! The owner is a true artisan who looks into every minute detail of the crafting process with uncompromising standards! Other than the very particular steps to be followed strictly for the perfect end product, the main reason his coconut-based vegan ice-creams taste so heavenly is attributed to the source - Thai Coconuts, which are simply superior!
We are definitely going back for more! Wish we had more while we were there!

Lunching and lounging are top priorities at a beach vacation. The Tent at SALA Samui Chaweng is a beachfront restaurant and bar that provides a conducive setting with cushions and pillows to do just that right on the beach, while being safely shielded from the scorching sun.
Fresh immunity boosting juices, complimentary addictive spread on toasts, delicious pitas filled with Thai-style chicken, and Cuban-flavoured pork paninis… It was an indulgence worth every baht!

Those who have flown out from Koh Samui will tell you how unusual their airport is. Other than the waiting areas at the boarding gates, everything else feels like a mall in a holiday resort sprawled mainly outdoors.
Their alternative waiting areas are outdoors too! Lounge chairs under beach huts. Clearly, there are people who haven’t gotten enough of the sun and want to soak in some final rays before getting on a cold plane.

Seafood Lunch at Fisherman’s Village…

Seafood seems mandatory when one visits Fisherman’s Village in Koh Samui. There are many beachfront restaurants to choose from and we went with the one that had the ambience and decor that called out to us - BaCaBa.
Fresh and sweet coconut juice, a cold Chang beer, and we were set to dig into some seafood in front of stunning turquoise waters. The platter of shellfish was alright, but that fish was to die for! This place is worth a revisit the next time we go back to Koh Samui.
