Here are a few spots in KL that I found worthy of a visit (including Instagram worthy shots): 📍KLCC (picture 1) - The tallest twin towers in the world, and once the tallest building in the world is a perfect place for luxury shopping and relaxation outside at the KLCC park where you can view the twin towers at its might. 📍Thean Hou Temple (pictures 2-4) - A large temple near the city center where people can visit to admire the fascinating architecture and learn about the culture and religion. It even has a nice view of the city skyline 📍REXKL (picture 5) - An Instagram worthy place where book lovers can shop for books in a huge bookshop, and travellers can take street shots outside. There are also cafes in the area for coffee lovers to sip some high tea and coffee. 📍Petaling Street (picture 6) - next to REXKL, a street market where you can buy cheap goods and good street food such as mochi and soy milk is a good-to-visit if you are interested in purchasing cheap goods. The tallest building in Southeast Asia, Merdeka 118 (picture 7) is nearby as well. 📍Sunway Velocity (picture 8) - If you want to do more shopping, be sure to visit Sunway Velocity to find more interesting shops, and even an indoor trampoline park and adventure park! 📍Little Salty Cafe (picture 9) - Enjoy a romantic dinner at Little Salty Cafe with a panoramic view of the whole KL city skyline. Reserve your seat early on their website to get an outdoor seat to view the sunset if possible, else a night-time dinner is great too. 😋Be sure to eat other delicacies such as roasted pork, claypot rice, and wonton mee if you are in KL. ✈️ Transport to KL: By plane: to KLCC, quite an efficient airport and within an hour from the city by train. A Chill Getaway in Kuala Lumpur Kuala Lumpur is one of those cities that perfectly blends modern skyscrapers with cultural heritage, making it a great destination for a laid-back trip. From stunning city views to amazing street food, there’s plenty to enjoy without feeling rushed. One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Petronas Twin Towers. Seeing them up close was impressive, and the view from the sky bridge was even better. Just nearby, KLCC Park is a great spot to relax and take in the city vibes. I also loved exploring Batu Caves, where the colorful steps and the giant golden statue of Lord Murugan made for an unforgettable sight. Climbing up the stairs was a bit of a workout, but the atmosphere inside the cave was peaceful and worth the effort. For food, Jalan Alor was my favorite place. The variety of street food was incredible—satay, char kway teow, nasi lemak, and refreshing coconut shakes. Another must-try experience was dining at a local mamak stall, where I enjoyed a simple yet delicious meal of roti canai and teh tarik. KL is also a great city for shopping and café hopping. Petaling Street in Chinatown and Central Market were fun places to browse for souvenirs and snacks. When I needed a break, I checked out some of the city’s trendy cafés in Bangsar and Bukit Bintang, where the coffee and desserts did not disappoint. Overall, Kuala Lumpur has a chill yet exciting energy that makes it perfect for a relaxed getaway. Whether you’re exploring cultural landmarks, enjoying the food scene, or just strolling through the city, there’s always something interesting to see and do. I've been to Kuala Lumpur seven times and stayed here every time!!! It's amazing! The location is great, right in the city center, close to the business district, and near the Petronas Towers. It's also convenient for eating and shopping. √ The rooms are large and clean, with complete facilities. Everything you need is there, and it's very thoughtful, just like being at home. √ The food is rich. You can enjoy Chinese, Western, Japanese, and other cuisines here, and the taste is very good. √ There are two outdoor swimming pools, so you can swim anytime and take photos. In addition, there is a fitness center and a spa center to meet your exercise needs, relax your body and mind, and feel full of energy. Every country has a historical landmark that is a must-see destination, such as Tiananmen Square in China and Times Square in the United States. In Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Independence Square (Dataran Merdeka) is undoubtedly one of the most iconic landmarks. 📒 Travel notes: In June 2024, my friend and I traveled from Singapore to Malacca and Kuala Lumpur by bus, and then returned to Hangzhou from Putrajaya. On a hot afternoon, we took a taxi with a strange smell and arrived at Central Market after a bumpy ride in bad traffic. I felt like throwing up as soon as I got out of the car, and the crowded people and unpleasant smell there made me feel even worse. The online photos were so misleading. (I give it 1 star. Don't go! It's no different from a wholesale market.) So my friend and I left quickly and went to Independence Square, where we finally breathed fresh air. However, the weather was hot, and we were very tired, so we just sat on the bench until it was too hot to sit. Then we stood under the flagpole and chatted with an American guy next to us. 🌍 Guide: On August 31, 1957, Malaysia officially broke away from British colonial rule and held a grand independence ceremony here. Today, the Malaysian national flagpole stands in the center of the square as a symbol of independence and freedom. 📍Location: Jalan Raja, City Centre, 50050 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 🎫Tickets: Free ⏰Opening hours: Open all day, but it is recommended to avoid noon and visit in the morning or evening. ⌛️Duration: 1–3 hours 📷Photo spots 📍Flagpole This is the core symbol of Kuala Lumpur Independence Square. It was once the administrative center of the British colonial government and is now the location of the Malaysian High Court. 📝Tips 1⃣️If you plan to visit the surrounding museums and parks, it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and pay attention to sun protection! 2⃣️The weather is hot, so try to avoid going out during the high-temperature period from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. 3⃣️You can wear black, white, or solid-colored clothes for better photos. 🏠Nearby attractions 📍National Museum, City Gallery: Both were closed when my friend and I traveled there. 📍Jalan Alor Night Market: One of the most famous food streets in Kuala Lumpur (We went straight back to Pavilion to eat. Room environment The room I stayed in was super spacious and full of design. The room is mainly in white, black, and gold, which is modern and tasteful. Also, each room has bright floor-to-ceiling windows, offering an unobstructed view of the city of Kuala Lumpur. The soundproofing of the room is also super good, once you close the doors and windows, the hustle and bustle outside is no longer your concern.
