Enjoy the Bai Ethnic 'Raosanling' at Yunnan Ethnic Village during the May Day holiday

From May 1st to 5th, Yunnan Ethnic Village will host a series of events for the Bai Ethnic 'Raosanling' folk festival. During this time, visitors can watch and experience 'Bai Ethnic Culture Exhibition', 'Raosanling Parade', 'Joyful Folk Song Gathering', 'Ethnic Unity Dance', 'Tie-dyeing and Jamma Making', 'Three-Course Tea Experience', 'Strolling through the Food Street', and other exciting activities. During the event, Bai ethnic members can enjoy a half-price discount on daytime tickets. A family package for two adults and one child includes daytime admission to the scenic area and a regular ticket to the 'Call of the Plateau' performance. The original price is 600 yuan, but now it's only 300 yuan per set. Visitors who purchase tickets online must enter the park with their second-generation ID card. 'Raosanling' is an important folk festival for the Bai people in Dali, also known as 'Guanshanglan'. It was listed in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage in 2006. To let tourists participate in and experience the colorful ethnic customs of Yunnan, the folk festival starts with the 'Raosanling' parade. Led by elders holding willows, Bai girls and boys dressed in festive attire parade from the East Gate Archway to the Bai Ethnic Village, singing and dancing along the way, cracking whips, beating octagonal drums, and parading with dragons, creating a lively atmosphere. Yunnan Ethnic Village has specially invited several folk intangible cultural heritage inheritors, including 'Song Kings' and 'Song Queens' from Dali, and performance groups from the Yunnan Provincial Dian Opera Theatre. Visitors can not only enjoy their exquisite song and dance performances but also join the lively ethnic unity dance to the cheerful music, kicking off the Yunnan dance 'Dian' peak mode. During the festival, a variety of Bai ethnic handicraft skills will be showcased. Interested visitors can participate in the charm of tie-dyeing, Jamma paper printing, and other intangible cultural heritage experiences, or taste the Bai 'Three-Course Tea'. The Bai ethnic village is also home to a variety of Bai ethnic snacks such as Dali fried cheese fans, rice cool shrimp, papaya water, and pea powder. The food street area of Yunnan Ethnic Village also gathers the characteristic flavors of other ethnic minorities in Yunnan, such as Miao ethnic flower mountain chicken, Lahu skyward chili roasted wings, Tibetan butter tea, and many more. Visitors can also enjoy minority singers' interactive performances while eating delicious food. It is worth mentioning that on the Dianchi Grand Stage, there are two performances of the stage art masterpiece 'Call of the Plateau' every day. The 'Colorful Clouds' series of performances will also be staged on time in different villages such as the Yi Ethnic Courtyard, Knife Pole Square, and Mosuo Home. As night falls, the Dai, Hani, De'ang, Tibetan, Jingpo, and Achang ethnic villages transform into light and shadow themed tribes. Visitors will experience the graceful charm of Dai villages, trace the migration history of Dian-Tibet, enjoy a lively ethnic 'Hi-Di', and feel the charm of night-time Yunnan in a 3D light and shadow fantasy world.
