Photographer’s Paradise (Jinshanling)

This part of the Great Wall is known as a photographer’s paradise. It is very quiet and the surrounding scenery is spectacular. Located in Hebei Provence, it is about 2.5 hours from Beijing and only partially restored. Jinshanling is one of the best preserved parts of the wall and is a great hike up. It is open from 8am to 5pm and wonderful all year round. spring - for the blossoms summer - for the greenery autumn - for the leaves winter - for the snow It is about 10km long but only 5-6km are open to the public. I would suggest getting a private driver who will wait for you as it may prove difficult to call a cab willing to take you all the way into Beijing.
