The city gate was initially called "Zetian Gate", and later changed to "Ying Tian Gate" to avoid the name of the empress, meaning "to comply with the sky and the people". The existing museum was opened in 2019. The city gate was rebuilt outside, and the ruins were protected inside. You can see the ruins area not far from the museum.
