Macau|Mandarin Oriental Stay Experience

||Location: There is no direct shuttle bus from Hengqin to the hotel. You need to go to MGM in Taipa first, then transfer to MGM on the peninsula, and walk a few steps through One Central to get there. Transportation is not very convenient unless you take a taxi. Room: I was assigned to the top floor with a good view. Later, I found out from the layout map that there are only 8 rooms on each floor, which explains why the hotel is so quiet. The lobby is smaller compared to other Mandarin Oriental hotels. The building is very old but well-maintained. If you prefer newer hotels, this might not be the best choice. Service: Upon arrival, someone helped open the door and guided me to check-in. The receptionist seemed new and asked for my hotel membership number, saying I could choose some stay benefits. My booked room already included benefits and a $100 credit. Another staff member eventually resolved the issue. The receptionist later apologized and escorted me to the elevator. Turn-down service included chocolates and small gifts. Since I noted my birthday, they provided a cake, fruits, and snacks. Overall, the service was excellent, much better than the Guangzhou MO. Dining: On the first night, I went out for dinner, so I didn't eat at the hotel. However, I ordered a bottle of red wine upon returning. It took several calls and 40 minutes to deliver because the room service menu was outdated. On the second night, I ordered room service, and the food was delicious, especially the wasabi shrimp balls. I didn't order the signature roast goose as I'm not particularly fond of it, living in Guangdong. (The oysters in the picture were ordered from another delivery service.) Breakfast had very few options and few guests, but it was exquisite, and the service was excellent. The bakery was very good. Recreation: The gym is small, but the spa facilities are complete, and the service is excellent. The pool staff proactively offered seating and bedding, and promptly provided water and snacks. Summary: The room facilities are too old, the hairdryer doesn't work well, and there aren't enough bedside sockets. You either need to bring your own adapter or charge at the desk. Despite some minor service hiccups, the service was excellent and comfortable. During my stay, the breakfast and gym staff could accurately remember guests' names by the second day. The room service was very responsive. The hotel is very quiet without a casino. If you're tired of staying in Taipa hotels and want to stay on the Macau Peninsula, I highly recommend it. There are many small streets nearby to explore, and it's very quiet and restful when you return to the hotel. The soundproofing is also very good.
