| InterContinental Madrid: A Landmark Stay

Recently, I went to Madrid and stayed at the InterContinental Hotel. It is located on Paseo De La Castellana Avenue, which is a prime location. It is not only close to the Prado Museum and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, but also close to the Real Madrid Museum and the Serrano shopping area. It is super convenient! It is especially suitable for exploring the essence of the city. Speaking of the location, it couldn't be better, and the surrounding transportation is very convenient. The hotel is a building with a strong 18th-century palace style, luxurious and atmospheric. Entering the lobby, I was immediately amazed by the high ceiling and elegant decoration style, and I felt like I had traveled back in time. Although the hotel looks a bit dated, it has a retro charm. The front desk staff is very professional and enthusiastic, making you feel welcome instantly. The room layout is reasonable. We stayed in a room with a balcony, overlooking the street view of Madrid, which was really pleasant. The overall room experience is good. The room is very spacious and very clean. The bed is very comfortable, and the pillows are very soft, but some mattresses are hard, which may take some getting used to. The facilities provided are very complete, including a TV, wardrobe, and desk. However, the elevator is really small, and it may be inconvenient if you have a large suitcase. The bathroom is designed in a modern style, but we were not provided with a face towel on the first night, and it was only replenished the next day. The room temperature is a bit high, but the air circulation is good after opening the window. There are many good restaurants around the hotel! I especially recommend going to El Jardin to try the delicious dishes supervised by the famous chef, and the local wine and signature snacks at Bar 49 are also not to be missed. You can find many restaurants and bars within a few minutes' walk, which is a good choice if you don't want to eat hotel food. Also, there are some great attractions and shopping areas nearby that will not disappoint you. Of course, there are some minor drawbacks to a perfect place. Although the food in the hotel is good, sometimes the variety is limited, especially for breakfast. Also, we encountered some unfriendly staff at the front desk, but the problem was eventually resolved. Another thing is that there is a strange smell in the room, which bothers me a little. Overall, the InterContinental Madrid is indeed a five-star hotel worth recommending. Although there is room for improvement in some areas, the overall experience is quite good. If I have the opportunity to come to Madrid again, I will consider staying here again!
