Illustration of Bavarian rulers’ extravagance

#bucketlistreboot Built as a summer residence for the Wittelsbach family, Schloss Nymphenburg is an elegant Baroque palace surrounded by beautiful gardens. The enormous garden surrounding the Palace, which spreads over 200 hectares (490 acres), has been laid out in different design according to fashions over the years. A visit to this castle must include the magnificent "Great Hall" redesigned in the Rococo style. Today another of the main attractions is the "Gallery of Beauties", with its portraits painted from 1827 to 1850 for King Ludwig I by Joseph Stieler. The tour of Nymphenburg Palace also includes the bedroom where King Ludwig II of Bavaria was born on 25 August 1845.

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is the famous beer festival being hosted in Munich. After two years of absence, a lot of people were waiting for it and flying in to be part of it. The main part if of course the famous 1 liter beer with music, Bavarian sausage & cheese board, grilled chicken, pretzels and Kaiserschmann. But also the theme-park experience. Kids are also allowed in. Just keep in mind. It is hard to get into the “Zelt”, the beer tents, so go early (opens from 10am) and bring no heavy luggages and backpacks with you (not allowed). The beers sold there are stronger than usual beer by 1-2% alcohol volume, so don’t pace too much for the best experience! #bucketlistreboot #beertrip
