Urban beaches are an oasis for local residents - Naminoue Beach

Near Naha Port in the northern part of Naha City, "Naminoue Beach" is the only urban beach in the city where swimming is allowed. Swimming is allowed for more than half a year from April to October, which is something people living in the main island of Japan would envy. Although it is an artificial beach about 100m long, the white sand and the clear emerald green color of the sea are impressive, along with the endless blue Okinawan sky. The beach is fully equipped with parking, showers, changing rooms, toilets, drink vending machines, and other facilities, which is probably because it is run by the city of Naha. Of course, admission to the beach is free. There is an overpass in the bay, so it doesn't feel like the view is open in front of you, but it is enough to swim in the beautiful sea. There are not many waves, so it is safe for families and children.
