Nakhon Luang Castle, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

Nakhon Luang Castle is located along the river in Nakhon Luang Subdistrict, Nakhon Luang District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. It features ancient temple walls and numerous sacred items for worship inside. The journey from Bangkok takes only 1 hour. Nakhon Luang Castle is the largest building in Wat Nakhon Luang, and the best view of the castle can be seen from the lawn area (just walk through to the back of Sala Phra Chan Loi). There are parts that remain as original exposed bricks and parts that have been plastered and roofed in later periods. Upon entering, you will encounter the ancient temple walls with sacred items for worship inside. You need to climb about two floors of stairs, and along the way, there are various spots to take beautiful photos of the temple. Once you reach the top, the first thing you will see is the statue of Ganesha sitting on a skull, located in front of the Four Buddha Footprints.
