Qingyuan Mountain Scenic Area

Qingyuan Mountain Scenic Area is a site with a very rich Buddhist atmosphere, where the sacred and tranquil Zen spirit surrounds everything. The entire scenic area is less than thirty kilometers away from Jiuhua Mountain, and as one of China's four famous Buddhist mountains, the Buddhist essence of Jiuhua Mountain has deeply influenced the development and construction of Qingyuan Mountain Scenic Area. It is said that Qingyuan Mountain was originally a single peak, which was split into two by the gods. It is also known as Liangfen Mountain, because a clear spring emerges from the mountain, which never dries up. Since ancient times, Qingyuan has been regarded as immortal water, and the 'Qingyuan Zen Monastery' was built here at the end of the Song Dynasty and still exists today. The Tang Dynasty monk Jindi Zang first came to Jiuhua Mountain and settled down along the eastern route, leaving marks on the rocky mountain behind the monastery. He hoped that all sentient beings could extinguish the troubles of the three realms and attain the rank of Arhat. Based on the color and material of the rocky mountain, later generations invited skilled craftsmen to carve five hundred Arhats on the rocky mountain.
