The Blackhead Palace is a building in the old town of Riga, Latvia's capital. The original building was built in the early 14th century and belonged to the Blackhead Brotherhood, a guild formed by unmarried German merchants in Riga. From 1580 to 1886, many decorations were added. The building was bombed by German aircraft on June 28, 1941, and the remnants of it were demolished by the Soviet government in 1948. The current building was rebuilt from 1995 to 1999. Blackhead Palace is one of Riga’s most gorgeous buildings, and many tourists stop here every day to take pictures.
