Seoul~Cheong Wa Dae exterior.

On March 20, 2022, South Korean President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol announced that the South Korean presidential office would be moved from Cheong Wa Dae to the Ministry of National Defense building in Yongsan District, Seoul. As a result, Cheong Wa Dae has been open to the public since May 10, 2022. 📍Address: Hyoja-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul 🕙Opening hours: 7:00 am–7:00 pm ❤Recommended reason: The exterior garden of Cheong Wa Dae is beautiful, especially the landscape design. The pine trees and flowers create a solemn yet soft and elegant beauty. Cheong Wa Dae was originally a detached palace of the Goryeo Dynasty. After the establishment of the Joseon Dynasty, Cheong Wa Dae was connected to Gyeongbokgung Palace and became part of the rear garden of Gyeongbokgung Palace. In 1927, Japanese colonizers destroyed all the buildings in the rear garden of Gyeongbokgung Palace except for Ounjeong Pavilion and built the residence of the Governor-General of Korea. Cheong Wa Dae was newly built during the presidency of Roh Tae-woo. The main building of Cheong Wa Dae is the official residence of the President of South Korea.
