Guilin Park: The private garden of Huang Jinrong, the big boss of the Green Gang in old Shanghai

Guilin Park, originally named Huang Family Garden, is located at No. 128 Guilin Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai. It was the private garden of Huang Jinrong, the big boss of the Green Gang in old Shanghai. The park was started in the 20th year of the Republic of China (1931) and completed in the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934). There are more than 20 kinds of osmanthus trees planted in the park, which is a park with osmanthus as the main feature and has a modern architectural structure with Chinese classical garden style. The layout is coordinated, the architectural style is bright, and the dragon wall and flower wall in the park are winding, with small bridges and flowing water, stacked mountains and peaks, pavilions and pavilions, and winding paths. In 1953, after the Huang Family Garden was nationalized, it was opened as Guilin Park. Guilin Park is divided into four areas: the main garden, the south garden, the west garden, and the east garden expanded in the 1980s. In the park, in addition to the Four Teachings Hall, the Eight Immortals Platform, the Mandarin Duck Tower, the Guanyin Pavilion, the Prajna Boat, and the Feixiang Hall, there are also 18 Chinese-style pavilions that are colorful and each has its own highlights...
