Explore the history of China's securities development in a century-old building

This excellent free museum is a must-visit. The China Securities Museum is the only national museum in our country that focuses on the securities and futures industry. The museum itself is also very interesting, as it was originally the Richard's Hotel, founded in 1846, which was later changed to the Astor House Hotel. The architecture features neoclassical Victorian Baroque style, and in 1990, the Shanghai Stock Exchange was established here. Recommended highlights: The Peacock Hall on the first floor has been restored to its original scene, and its high atrium is very impressive; on the second floor, the Richard's Hall displays exhibits provided by international organizations and exchanges from various countries, and the wooden floor inlay in Richard's Hall is very distinctive, with contours similar to those of a cello, which is worth paying attention to; on the third floor, the room where Zhou Enlai and his wife Deng Yingchao stayed in 1927 is open to the public, along with more than 150 precious bills and documents from the late Qing Dynasty to modern times; on the fourth floor, you can see the room where Einstein once stayed and the beautiful glass skylight. It is recommended to allocate 1-2 hours for the visit, and no appointment is needed for individual visitors.
