Yu Garden

Yu Garden is a national key cultural relic protection unit. It was built in the 38th year of the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1559 AD), and has a history of more than 460 years. The owner of the garden, Pan Yunduan, once served as the governor of Sichuan. "Yu" means "peace" and "safety", and the name "Yu Garden" means "to please the elderly". When Yu Garden was first built, it covered an area of more than 70 acres. It was carefully designed and personally participated in the construction by Zhang Nanyang, a famous garden designer in the Ming Dynasty. The pavilions, terraces, buildings, halls, and pavilions are all hidden in the garden, "although they are made by people, they are naturally open", and it enjoys the reputation of "the crown of famous gardens in the southeast".
