Visit the Kuaiji Mountain Tushita Heaven Scenic Area

Kuaiji Mountain Tushita Heaven Scenic Area is located within Sidu Gate in Shaoxing city area, situated on Kuaiji Mountain beside the large fragrant forest. Longhua Temple was founded in the 24th year of the Yuanjia era of the Southern Dynasties Song dynasty (447), constructed by the then Minister of Personnel, Jiang Yi. Longhua Temple is one of the birthplaces of the Maitreya faith in China, and also one of the sources of the ancient Tang poetry road. It integrates the grandeur of a royal monastery with the delicate charm of a southern garden, where the red walls and golden tiles of the Buddha-worshipping halls complement the white walls, wooden pillars, and black tiles of the residential buildings, creating an interesting and beautiful contrast. Longhua Temple consists of buildings such as the Mahavira Hall, Reclining Buddha Hall, and Heavenly King Hall, built along the mountain in a majestic, tiered fashion. The Tushita Heaven Palace enshrines Maitreya Buddha and promotes the beliefs of Maitreya and humanistic Buddhism. The Tushita Heaven Palace is composed of seven treasures, the Hall of Good Dharma, a viewing platform, and a purple-gold lotus flower, constructed from bottom to top, with a solemn and respectful architecture. The ancient Longhua Temple has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. The existing Longhua Temple and Tushita Heaven Palace were reconstructed in 2014. Together, they form a large Buddhist cultural tourism area in Shaoxing's Kuaiji Mountain.
