Shenyang Marshal Mansion

The Zhang Family Marshal Mansion in Shenyang, Liaoning, was the official residence and private home of the Feng faction warlord leader, the King of Northeast China, Zhang Zuolin, and his eldest son, General Zhang Xueliang, during their time stationed in the Northeast. Therefore, it is also known as the Marshal Mansion or the Young Marshal Mansion. The Marshal Mansion covers a total area of 36,000 square meters, with a total building area of 27,600 square meters. It was built in 1914, and until the Japanese invasion of the Northeast, it was the political center of the Northeast region. After decades of management by two generations of warlords, the Marshal Mansion is now the best-preserved historical celebrity residence in the Northeast region, enjoying the reputation of being the "No. 1 Celebrity Residence in Northeast China." The Marshal Mansion consists of several parts. The first part to visit from south to north is the Three-Courtyard, located in the central courtyard of the Zhang Family Marshal Mansion. It is a traditional Chinese three-courtyard quadrangle building modeled after a prince's mansion, which began construction in 1914 and was completed in two years. It is the earliest building constructed in the Marshal Mansion. This style also reflects Zhang Zuolin's relatively conservative and traditional mindset.
