Beiling Park: Historical traces and modern romance

Beiling Park is located about 10 miles north of the ancient city of Shengjing (Shenyang) and is a national 4A-level tourist attraction.  - Historical origin: The Zhaoling Tomb in Beiling Park was built in 1643 and completed in the eighth year of the Shunzhi period (1651). It is the tomb of the second founding monarch of the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Taizong Hong Taiji, and Empress Xiaoduanwen. - Overall layout: The overall layout is centered on the Zhaoling Tomb, which is divided into three parts: the tomb, the front of the tomb, and the back of the tomb. The layout of the tomb buildings follows the "front court and back bedroom" system, with the main buildings located on the north-south central axis. - Main attractions: Including the Long'en Gate, Long'en Hall, Fangcheng, Crescent City, and Baocheng of the Zhaoling Tomb, as well as the garden landscapes such as Lotus Island and Hundred Flowers Garden in front of the tomb, and the ancient pine forest area behind the tomb. - Garden features: The park has a 300,000-square-meter artificial lake, where you can take a boat tour in summer. There is also the Fangxiu Garden, which is planted with nearly 200 species of plants, offering different views in each season. The buildings and landscapes in the garden are cleverly combined. - Cultural value: It was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Liaoning Province in 1963, a national key cultural relic protection unit in 1982, and a World Cultural Heritage Site in 2004.
