Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan The Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan is a traditional luxury hotel. The overall design retains the old-money style of a classic five-star hotel, but its unique location and views add a trendy touch, making it elegant without being pretentious. When I initially chose this hotel, I noticed it opened in 2015. Compared to those that opened after 2020, I was a bit worried. However, it seems that some old-money hotels can always be trusted. 1. Old-money aspects: 1. The hotel lobby features an atrium design, with one side being a 70-meter panoramic glass wall, two sides with hotel corridors, and one side with a scenic elevator. This vertical atrium design began in the 1960s, with the towering atrium design inside the New York Marriott Hotel in 1985 being a classic Portman design, exuding a sense of avant-garde yet oppressive atmosphere, much like the Time Variance Authority in the first season of Loki. 2. The room layout and color scheme are overall elegant, classical, and understated. You definitely won't find a Xiaomi box installed on the TV. 3. The elevator has handrails, possibly sewn with genuine leather. 4. As soon as you enter the hotel lobby, you are greeted with a strong scent of perfume. 2. Trendy aspects: Of course, the panoramic glass offers a city line view of a first-tier city, along with the atrium's spiral staircase and the high-altitude swimming pool. The service is still quite good. The wait time for check-in was a bit long, so the staff took us to the executive lounge to check in, but there were people there as well. The staff stayed with us until we were done and even gave snacks to the kids in the meantime. You can also rest assured about breakfast, as you can enjoy warm, crispy croissants.
