The former British Consulate in Shimonoseki

The building, which was built in 1906 and is a nationally designated important cultural property, is the oldest existing consulate building. Admission is free. Although it is small, there is a consular room with a fireplace and souvenirs for sale. The second floor is a tea house where you can enjoy tea and snacks . There are so many Petter Rabbits inside which are so cute. The ambiance is really relaxing. They do have pamphlets in English which is nice and you can learn about history . #afternoontea #europeanarchitecture #historicalbuilding #japan
