Strolling through Little India

Little India is one of Singapore's four historical conservation areas and is the gathering place for Singapore's Indian community, characterized by a strong Indian flavor. Walking into the neighborhood, the air is filled with the smell of curry and chili, and the shops are lined up one after another, each with its own unique style. The most famous is the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple: a Hindu temple with many three-dimensional colorful statues on the tower, and the statues inside the temple are intricately carved, lifelike, brightly colored, and varied in shape. There is also a 120-year-old Chinese Rainbow House: the former residence of Tan Teng Niah.
