The Church of Wies means "the church of the grassland", and as its name suggests, it is a church that blends into the idyllic grassland landscape. The reason why this church, which has nothing around it, became famous was triggered by the legend of the Miracle of Wies is that occurred in the 18th century. The miracle of church is that in 1738, a farmer's woman prayed enthusiastically every day to the "Whipped Christ Statue" that she inherited, and this Christ statue shed tears.
