The market we love the most is Oh Poi Market. A temple market that has become a landmark of Suan Phueng, Ratchaburi Province. It is a market of Karen Thais. Oh Poi means ‘rest’ in the Karen language. So they created a relaxing atmosphere by the water amidst big trees like this. Since this market is located next to the Pachi River, it is extremely peaceful and cool. The sound of water flowing from a weir that looks like a small waterfall makes the atmosphere even more relaxing. The stalls are made of bamboo with thatched roofs that blend in well with nature. They sell food, drinks, local snacks that look unusual, and souvenirs that are tempting to buy. What we really like is that every shop emphasizes using natural materials or recyclable items, such as bamboo cylinders, clay cups, rice wrapped in banana leaves, and cups made from Krathong, served in bento boxes that give a sense of loving the environment and creating a great environment. In addition, the staff and cleaners who clear tables and collect trash at the market are children in the community. Very hardworking And don't forget to join the alms giving to the monks on a raft, which is the highlight of this place. There are shops that beautifully arrange offerings for us to choose from. We recommend coming at 7:30 AM to reserve a seat first. Then around 8:00 AM, we will see monks standing still in a row on bamboo rafts, with villagers leading the way, floating to the pier to collect alms, so that we can make merit together.
