Strolling Around Hanshan Temple

For me, going to Hanshan Temple is like taking a walk. It's best to go when there are fewer people, but Hanshan Temple never seems to be short of visitors. "Night Mooring Near Maple Bridge" is simply too famous. I used to recommend that visitors driving themselves park at the RT-Mart parking lot on Heshan Road, which offers 2 hours of free parking. However, due to road construction on Heshan Road, while parking there can save on parking fees, it also requires a significant detour. Some people online complain about Hanshan Temple being small but still charging an entrance fee of 20 yuan (I won't argue with that). Hanshan Temple offers free sutra-copying activities, and you can even take the sutras home to copy. You can also visit Maple Bridge Scenic Area to experience the canal culture. There's a wharf, a garden called Yizhi Garden, and a forest with dense vegetation. There's also a city gate tower. I've been there many times, and it was the first time I saw the city gate tower open for visitors to climb and explore. A complete tour takes about an hour on foot. Don't just visit Hanshan Temple and leave. Maple Bridge Scenic Area is also worth exploring. In the evening, especially during summer, many Suzhou locals enjoy the cool breeze and dance at Maple Bridge.
