Most people may only know about the War of Resistance against Japan from the outbreak of the July 7 Incident or only know about the War of Resistance in their hometown. As a Northeasterner, I was taught by my teacher since I was a child that the War of Resistance in the Northeast began in 1931. Apart from the September 18 Incident, the Battle of Jiangqiao Bridge was the first shot of China's armed resistance against Japan. It should be said that the Battle of Jiangqiao Bridge further exposed the ambition of Japanese imperialism to invade and occupy Northeast China, and showed the spirit of the Chinese people's fearless and desperate resistance to the invaders. General Ma Zhanshan and the soldiers of Heilongjiang Province, with their patriotic loyalty, fought hard for more than ten days, and shed blood on the Jiangqiao Bridge. Although they failed due to backward equipment, heavy casualties, and lack of ammunition, they will always be recorded in the glorious history of the Chinese people's anti-aggression war.
