Lesser-known fairy tale country Estonia | Tallinn Tallinn Guide
🌟Time: Early December, I feel it's just right to go at this time, you can appreciate the fairy tale world of snow scenery❄️, and it won't be too cold. And there are many festivals🎄 at this time, if you are lucky, you can also encounter outdoor performance activities🙌🙌
⚠️But now it gets dark earlier, basically after three and a half in the afternoon it gets dark, but it won't be very dark after dark, and it's really super safe here!!👍(Envious of the area🥹)
🌟Transportation: Taxi🚖Bolt, very convenient and affordable.
Bus🚌 fare 2 euros, you can directly swipe your bank card on the bus.
🌟Route:
The first route: You can stroll around the old town first, then slowly climb up the slope to a very representative check-in point📷, the viewing platform (Kohtuotsa viewing platform Kohtuotsa vaateplats) can overlook the panorama and the coastline🌄.
The second route is: You can take a car🚘 to the Estonian Art Museum (KUMU Kunstimuuseum) to get off, you can visit the museum, then walk down a staircase (Katariina trepp), this is also a tourist attraction🏞️, then continue to walk forward to the Kadriorg Art Museum (Kadrioru kunstimuuseum), Baroque palace and art gallery✅. Finally, after a long walk, you can see a monument🪦 (Russalka), you have reached the seaside🏝️, the scenery is super beautiful👍👍
🌟Recommend a very good restaurant🍴, the environment is also very characteristic➡️
Name: Beer House
Address: Dunkri 5, 10123 Tallinn, Estonia
The pork knuckle (Beer House Fest) of this shop is very good, very delicious!!🍖👍
And the home-brewed beer🍻 here is really the best I have ever drunk! There is honey-flavored beer (Medover Honey), which is very good to drink, and it tastes a bit sweet.
And there will be live music performances💃🕺 from 20:00-22:45, the atmosphere is super!
🌟Flow: I use a domestic phone card and bought a data package.
You can also buy a phone card directly at the airport.
🌟Payment: You can swipe your card everywhere here, it's super convenient.
The Colours of Tallin
Location: Tallin, capital city of Estonia.
Getting there: Take a flight from most major European cities to Tallin. Or, you can take the 2 hour ferry from Helsinki and be in the hear of Tallin. This was my option.
Tallin is a small but breathtaking European city. You don't need public transport here, you can walk from one place to another quite easily. Most of the highlights are in the old town. I enjoyed climbing to the top of the cathedral to get a panoramic view of the city.

This is the only Gothic-style town hall in Northern Europe
It is also the oldest town hall in the entire Baltic Sea and Northern Europe.
The earliest documents are from the 13th century
However, it did not avoid the destruction of war.
What we see so far is the prototype that was rebuilt after World War II.
There is also a very lively holiday market every Sunday in City Hall Square.

Visiting Tallin’s historical landmarks
#newyearadventure #estonia #tallinn
I was glad to make the additional trip across to Estonia 🇪🇪 via ferry, a little more than 12 hours before our return flight to Singapore. Upon reaching Tallinn, the country’s beautiful capital, we took a 2-hour tour around the more prominent historical landmarks that appeared magical with the steady snowfall ❄️😍
One of the best Christmas markets in Europe!
#christmas #winterwonderland
Voted as the best Christmas market in Europe for more than a year, we decided we shouldn’t miss Tallin’s Old Town Christmas market, especially when the country of Estonia was just a stone’s throwaway from Finland, separated by merely a gulf in the Baltic Sea.
Since there was almost an entire day to spare before our return night flight to Singapore, we booked ourselves seats for a two-hour morning ferry ride to the capital of Estonia 🇪🇪
Upon reaching the Old Town, it seemed as if a fairytale had come alive. The town hall square was fully adorned with Christmas decorations and lights, with local merchants selling Estonian Christmas cuisine, from black pudding and sour cabbage to gingerbread and hot Christmas drinks, as well as little handicrafts. Fresh snow was also falling steadily from the sky, adding some white to the star of the market - the most important Christmas tree in Estonia that has been set up in the town hall square since 1441 😍😍😍
We spent a good one hour basking in the festive cheer and spirit. Sacrificing shopping time in Helsinki for this additional trip was truly worthwhile. After all, it’s not every day one gets to cross international borders this easily to visit a traditional Christmas market!

Tour the old town of Tallinn, Estonia, a port city🤩
As expected of Tallinn, which is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site,
every single alley is so pretty.
If Eastern Europe felt like a fairy tale,
Tallinn has a very antique feel!
The flea market in the central square and the fun of finding hidden shops in the alleys are great~!
There are several old churches in the old town that also serve as observation decks. Please note that you can go up to the rooftop by paying a small entrance fee :)⛪️

Exploring the birthplace of the Danish flag
Estonia is a country with rich history. During my time there, I signed up for a tour where a guide brought us to various landmarks in Estonia and shared with us the historical significance of each spot.
This place is called Danish King's Garden as King Valdemar II of Denmark and his army camped here before conquering Toompea in 1219. It is also the place where the Danish flag originated. Legend has it that Valdemar's troops were losing the battle against the Estonians when the skies opened to reveal a red flag with a white cross from heaven. This motivated the Danes and spurred the Danish army on to victory.

Old Town Tallinn, Estonia 🇪🇪❄️
The Baltic country of Estonia is quaint and small, but a true beauty to visit✨⭐️ Boasting excellent history and uniquely European vibes, Tallinn is the perfect place for a cheap and enjoyable weekend getaway!🌤 Spend time strolling through the Old Town, and enjoy the peace and quiet of random back alleyways🌼 Here, you will see colourful rooftops and castle-like buildings, all standing tall in the city centre 🏰 The fairytale feel to this city is unlike any other in Europe, and well worth a visit! Small Town charm
Tallinn is the capital of Estonia and is an hour's ferry ride or 30 mins by plane away from Helsinki. Its main tourist attractions are all located in the heart of the Old Town which consists of lovely colorful historic buildings. There's even a medieval feel to the city that is further emphasized with the many restaurants serving medieval themed foods. As in other Old Towns in Europe, you'll be greeted with cute city squares that always seem have some event going on.
Heading over to the hilltop, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views over the city and surrounding sea. It really makes for lovely pictures.
Overall, the small city is a great place to spend a few days without denting your wallet. The city is affordable and outside the mostly restored Old Town you'll find a less gentrified and more rustic version of Tallinn which is also quite an interesting contrast. Head over to Tallinn and you'll leave being charmed by this little city!

#decembertravel #historicculture
Unlike many other capital cities in Europe, Tallinn has managed to wholly preserve its structure of medieval and Hanseatic origin. Due to its exceptionally intact 13th century city plan, the Old Town was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, joining the ranks of the world’s most recognised landmarks. Here you'll find original cobblestone streets dotted with medieval churches and grandiose merchant houses, barns and warehouses many of which date back to the Middle Ages.
Spend a day in an authentic medieval milieu and you will soon realise why so many visitors have described Tallinn Old Town as mystical, mesmerising and addictive#skiing
Tallinn’s famous landmarks. I spent a week exploring this magical European city. A highlight for me has been the early morning sunrises, walking along the beautiful and empty streets in the old town of Tallinn.
Get lost in the beuatiful medival town of Tallinn. From castles to cafes, this is the perfect place to get lost in!
Last October I managed to get to one of the most northern capitals of EU - the capital of Estonia - Tallin. Even many years ago it was part of the Soviet Union nowadays the place is really different and beautiful. The architecture is amazing! It also offers good nightlife options.

1154 Tallinn first recorded. In 1219 the Danes built castles here and occupied Tallinn from 1227 to 1346. The word source of Tallinn consists of Danish and Bunker, meaning Danish bunker. After the restoration of independence in 1991, Estonia became the capital.
Take a walk on Tallinn Street, it's really a building everywhere, you want to use the camera to record, how unique and tasteful.
For the convenience of regional governance, the city of Tallinn is divided into eight administrative regions (Estonian)
The viewing platform on the Old Town of Toompea is the ideal location for photographing the standard ID of Tallinn Old Town. The viewing platform does not accept tickets and is open all day. The northernmost viewing platform is called Patkuli vaateplatvorm, where you can take pictures of several towers on the west side of the old city wall and St. Olav's Church. The best time to shoot is in the afternoon or sunset. The viewing platform on the east is called Kohtuotsa vaateplatvorm, where you can see the entire old city. Of course, the visual center is still St. Olav's Church, and the most famous "The Times We Had". The most suitable shooting time is In the afternoon or at sunset. The
St. Olaf Church Tower is the oldest and best view of the Old Town, overlooking the entire Old Town, as well as the New Town and the Baltic Sea. This is the ideal location for shooting down the city of Tallinn, the Upper Town of Toompea and the churches in the city. Many postcard-level Tallinn ID photos come from here. Since the old city is located on the south side of the church, in theory, the old city will be backlit all day, so the light and shadow effect will be somewhat poor, and the backlighting effect in the morning may be weaker than in the afternoon.
One of the three Baltic countries, Estonia and Helsinki, across the sea, this former Soviet Union republic, I have heard very little before, the two-hour ferry arrived in their capital Tallinn, this is an authentic The medieval city, cobbled alleys, antique metal street lamps, Gothic church steeples and medieval squares, is the only city in Northern Europe that maintains the medieval appearance and style. In the short two hours of the evening, it was impossible to walk in the ancient city square, and all kinds of special products were fascinating.
Olde Hansa: A Medieval Dining Experience in Tallinn's Old Town
Olde Hansa, an internationally renowned medieval-themed restaurant, is located in the heart of Tallinn's Old Town. The restaurant's decor and the staff's attire perfectly recreate the style of medieval Europe. The waitstaff are very enthusiastic in introducing and explaining the dishes. While waiting for your meal, you can also walk around the restaurant and enjoy the unique charm of the ancient architecture.

Viimsi Open Air Museum in Tallinn, Estonia
This museum is located outside the city center, in a relatively remote area by the sea. It takes about an hour to get there from Tallinn's main train station, but it's definitely worth the trip. The museum is charming, with free-roaming sheep and a souvenir shop. You can even go down to the sea, making it a great spot for photos. The museum's setting is like a scene from a fairy tale, with the sea, boats, sheep, and thatched cottages. I often imagine living there; it's very interesting.
At this museum, you can learn about the cultural history of Estonia's coastal people. If you want to understand the lifestyle of Estonia's coastal regions over the centuries, this is the place to experience it. Plus, there are very few tourists, so it feels like you have the place to yourself. The ticket price is also cheap, only 4 euros.
