Complete Guide to the Hampton Court Palace Tulip Festival

The 2024 Hampton Court Palace Tulip Festival kicks off today, and I'm here to give you a sneak peek with fresh GIFs, guides, and maps! 📅: April 8th to April 29th, 10am-5:30pm 🎫: Adult tickets range from £27.2 to £30, with options for children and students. As one of the largest tulip exhibitions in the UK, this festival features over 100,000 tulips of various species spread across 60 acres of vibrant royal gardens. Unlike the vast tulip fields of the Netherlands, these tulips are scattered throughout different gardens of the palace, offering a unique viewing experience. It's important to manage your expectations accordingly. Here are some of the best spots to enjoy the tulips, which I've marked on the map (see image 2) for easy reference. My visit sequence was 15-5-6-1, starting with a loop around the outer gardens to enjoy the flowers and scenery in good weather, before heading into the palace. Remember to grab a map at the entrance! 🌷 Spot 15: Kitchen Garden - The only place I found with a small, colorful tulip field (see image). It's a great spot for photos, so head here first if the weather is nice or if you arrive early. See images 3-5. 🌷 Spot 5: Great Fountain Garden - Tulips here are color-coordinated in sections, beautifully complemented by mushroom trees. Occasionally, a carriage passes by, adding to the picturesque setting. See images 6-10. 🌷 Spot 6: Privy Garden - Known for its symmetrical design, intricate flower beds, and neatly trimmed hedges and pathways. The tulips are scattered but beautifully arranged, offering a stunning view of the entire palace. A must-visit! See images 11-12. 🌷 Spot 1: Base Court - A must-see on the way to the palace, with tulips displayed in unique arrangements accompanied by courtyard music. See image 13. 🌷 Near the gift shop, the Kitchen exhibit features tulips in small carts, worth exploring if you're interested. See images 14-15. 🌷 Tulip talks are held daily at 11am and 2pm, lasting 15 minutes. 😋 After touring the palace, if you're hungry, head to The Mute Swan restaurant across the street.
