Close-up Shark Watching in Fiji!

Close-up shark watching! Underwater visibility can reach up to 30 meters! Yasawa Islands is a group of islands that are further away from Nadi, with boat trips ranging from one to six hours depending on which island you disembark at. Each island basically has different famous signature activities/scenery, so it's a good idea to check out what each island is known for online when planning your trip. Since we came to Fiji to see sharks, we chose to stay at Barefoot Kuata Island for two nights first. This island is most famous for Bullshark watching! At Barefoot Kuata Island Resort, we stayed in two types of rooms, one was a Garden View Room, and the other was the highest-grade room type, the Beachfront Bearu. If you are staying on the main island Nadi, you can also join a day tour to Barefoot Kuata Island to see sharks, but be prepared for it to be more crowded. If you are staying on the island, you can join the shark diving group at 8AM, which is exclusively for guests, while the 11AM and 2PM shark diving will be joined by other day tour groups not staying on the island, so guests staying on the island can enjoy a less crowded, more comfortable shark diving group. Moreover, Barefoot is a larger chain hotel group (there is another hotel on another island in Yasawa Islands called Barefoot Manta, which specializes in watching Manta Rays!), so the facilities are very new and clean, and the staff are very professional and friendly. Most importantly, since most of the islands only have one hotel, your three meals a day are also provided by the hotel. Barefoot Kuata only has one dining place - breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at specific times, but the meals are very international and served buffet-style, which I think is quite delicious😋 So friends interested in island hopping should also consider these factors and choose a resort that suits them.
