Take the kids to Pengzhai Ancient Village in Xiayi County for a unique weekend getaway

The weekend is here again, and this time we decided to take the kids to Pengzhai Ancient Village in Xiayi County. We'd heard it had a unique charm, offering a different kind of rural experience for children, so we set off full of anticipation 🚗. As soon as we entered Pengzhai Ancient Village, we were captivated by its rustic atmosphere. The mottled walls seemed to whisper stories of bygone days, and the children, full of curiosity, looked around and touched everything with a sense of wonder 😃. Strolling along the village paths, we walked on uneven stone roads that had a unique texture. The old houses on either side were scattered in an orderly fashion, some still retaining traditional wood and stone carvings, the exquisite craftsmanship of which made us stop and admire. The children looked up, their eyes sparkling with amazement ✨. There was also an ancient well in the village, its round opening deep and mysterious. We told the children about the well's past uses, and they listened with great interest, as if transported back in time 🧐. The village courtyards were filled with a variety of flowers and plants, their colorful blossoms swaying gently in the breeze. The children ran through the flowers, chasing butterflies 🦋, their laughter echoing throughout the courtyard. Before we knew it, it was noon, and we enjoyed authentic rural cuisine at a local farmhouse. With fresh vegetables and fragrant farmhouse dishes, the children ate with gusto, exclaiming how delicious everything was 😋. In the afternoon, we took the children to participate in a traditional handicraft workshop organized by the village. Watching them make simple bamboo objects with their own hands, although their technique was still a little clumsy, their focused expressions were truly adorable 🥰. Our day trip to the ancient village came to an end, but the children were still buzzing with excitement. This trip not only allowed them to get close to nature and experience the tranquility and beauty of the countryside, but also gave them a glimpse into the charm of traditional culture 🎈.
