Xishuangbanna Buddhist Temple is a popular and impressive temple which you should visit if you are in Jingling downtown. Expect to spent between one to two hours in this site. The temple is really well preserved and is a pleasure to see in person. I strongly recommend to visit this place early in the day as there is some climbing and the weather is very hot. There is no need to hire a guide, however, if you are into history and culture and want to know more of the Buddhas in the temple then you might need one.
