The Xuzhou Qianlong Imperial Lodge (Yunlong Mountain Lodge)

The Xuzhou Qianlong Imperial Lodge, also known as the Yunlong Mountain Lodge, is located at the northern foot of Yunlong Mountain in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. Originally a temporary site for Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty to eat, rest, and engage in political activities during his southern tours, it is now under the jurisdiction of the Xuzhou Museum and is a rare cultural relic and scenic spot in Xuzhou. The Xuzhou Qianlong Imperial Lodge was built in the 22nd year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1757). That year, Emperor Qianlong was on his southern tour and passed through Xuzhou for the first time. Local officials built this imperial lodge for him at the foot of Yunlong Mountain. After the completion of the lodge, Emperor Qianlong was very satisfied. Out of his four visits to Xuzhou, he stayed at this lodge three times, except for the third visit. He also personally wrote a pair of couplets: 'The famous garden leans on the green water, the wild bamboo reaches the blue sky'; 'Outside the house stands a distinguished peak, in front of the steps, a multitude of deep ravines.'
