The Li River takes a big turn to reach Xingping, where the Xingping River merges with the Fuyuan River into the Li River. Xingping Ancient Town is nestled between mountains and rivers with charming scenery, whitewashed walls, black tiles, and cobblestone alleys, making it the most beautiful ancient town along the Li River. 🏠👉 Xingping Ancient Town has a history of over 1700 years and is famous for its beautiful landscapes. The town, which prospered due to its waterways, has always been a bustling hub for merchants and businesses throughout history. Departing from the county town of Yangshuo, head north along the bank of the Li River for about 40 minutes by car to reach Xingping Ancient Town. There are bamboo rafts and cormorants by the river, and if you want to take a photo with them, you need to pay to get on the raft 📸 1️⃣ First option: 300💶 per person You can book a one-hour photo session on the spot or through your hotel, which includes a bamboo raft ride to the middle of the river with props and an old man posing for photos. An extra 20 is needed for a kerosene lamp, and another 20 for casting nets. This is the kind we took with our own camera 👇 2️⃣ Second option: 20💶 per person Walk down the small path to the left of the opposite viewing platform all the way to the river. And the refreshing Li Quan beer is the perfect complement to your trip! 'Nine Horses Painting Mountain' is located four kilometers upstream from Xingping. The rock wall stands straight by the river, looking from afar like a huge painting screen. The green trees growing on the rock wall are dense in some areas and sparse in others, with the water erosion marks on the mountains and rivers being mottled and dark. There are images resembling horses with manes, eyes, nostrils, and ears. Patterns look like spirited horses, with white horses, black horses, big horses, and small horses, and up to nine horses can be found, hence the name 'Nine Horses Painting Mountain'. Past the Nine Horses Painting Mountain, the river becomes wider, the water is as smooth as a mirror, and the reflection of the green peaks is breathtaking. Xingping is the best spot for viewing the scenery.
