Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is 4680 meters high

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is a group of snow mountains located in Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, China. It is the mountain range with year-round snow closest to the equator in the Northern Hemisphere. It is 75 kilometers long and is parallel to Zhongdian Snow Mountain across the river and Mianmian Mountain to the east. In the Naxi language, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is called 'Oulu', which means 'Tianshan'. Its thirteen snow peaks are continuous, like a 'giant dragon' soaring and dancing, so it is called 'Jade Dragon'. Also because its rock type is mainly limestone and basalt, black and white are distinct, so it is also called 'Black and White Snow Mountain'. The main peak Fanzi Dou is 5596 meters above sea level, and it is the highest mountain with modern glaciers in the Northern Hemisphere at the lowest latitude. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain has rich natural and cultural resources. It is the sacred mountain of the Naxi people. It is said to be the incarnation of the Naxi's protective god 'Sanduo'. In 1984, the Yunnan Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Provincial Nature Reserve was established. In 2001, it was rated as a 4A tourist attraction, and in 2007, it was rated as the first batch of 5A tourist attractions in the country. The highest altitude of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is 5596 meters, and the highest altitude that general tourists can reach is 4680 meters. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is a landmark attraction of Lijiang. Its beautiful snow scenes, Yushuiping, Ganhaizi and other attractions are all located here.
