Zaanse Schans, Netherlands - Seeing Windmill

Getting There - by train from Amsterdam Attractions - windmills, old town charm Food & Restaurants - various Shopping - souvenirs Zaanse Schans is famous for their windmills and the area is like a mini open air museums. It is also easily accessible by train from Amsterdam as a day trip. One can spend a few hours exploring the neighborhood and small town charm. One memorable experience is discovering the toll bridge for the ships, basically the bridge will open up to let the ships go past. As we were busy taking photos of the rainbow at the bridge (first photo), we did not realize the toll bridge was going to open up by splitting. Luckily, some kind locals warned us in time. We saw a lot of farm animals like sheep, goats and even a cute cat whilst exploring the area.
